Folliculitis

It is a common skin condition in which there is an inflammation or infection of one or more hair follicles. This commonly occurs on the scalps, thighs, buttocks, neck and armpits (places where friction is common).

Causes:

It is caused by infection of the hair follicles with staphylococcus aureus bacteria. It can also be caused by viruses and fungi.
